Choosing the Right Case for Preppers & Survivalists

Your survival gear is critical for facing any challenge, and selecting the right Pelican case—new or used—ensures it stays secure, organized, and ready for action. Here’s what to consider when choosing your case, with insights on why preppers and survivalists trust our high-quality used Pelican cases:

1. Size and Compatibility

Match the case to your gear. For compact survival kits or comms devices, consider smaller cases like the Pelican 1450. For larger setups with MREs, medical supplies, or multi-tools, opt for models like the Pelican 1550, 1610, or 1620. Used cases, thoroughly inspected at The Case Place, accommodate your gear at up to 50% less than new, making preparedness affordable.

2. Protection Level

Pelican cases, new or used, offer crushproof, waterproof (IP67-rated), and dustproof protection to shield your supplies from impacts, moisture, and extreme conditions. Our used cases are rigorously checked to ensure seals and latches maintain waterproof integrity, providing the same rugged reliability as new cases for any scenario.

3. Portability

For survivalists on the move, portability is essential. The Pelican Storm case, made from lightweight HPX resin, delivers rugged strength without added weight, making it ideal for bug-out bags or mobile setups. Used Pelican Storm cases combine affordability and easy transport for preppers in dynamic environments.

4. Organization

Customizable foam or divider systems keep survival knives, radios, emergency blankets, and other supplies secure and accessible. Many used Pelican cases come with adjustable foam inserts for a tailored fit, while others offer empty interiors for custom padding. Lid organizers are perfect for small items like fire starters, batteries, or first-aid supplies.

5. Special Features

Look for cases with pressure equalization valves for sensitive electronics like comms devices, especially in varying altitudes. Lockable latches add security for high-value survival gear. Used cases at The Case Place are professionally inspected to ensure all features meet the demands of preparedness.
